Beautiful Belly Session | Orlando Maternity Photographer

A couple of weeks ago, I met Kim and John at my favorite field in central Florida (Oviedo) to capture the story of their growing family.

It won’t be too much longer until this stunning couple welcomes their first baby – a girl –  into the world, and I’m so glad they chose me to document some of the last moments of it being just the two of them.

I’ve been shooting a lot more maternity sessions lately, and I have to admit – I’m totally in love. It’s not because I take a different approach when shooting – I actually shoot a maternity session as either a standard couples session or a family session (if there are any older siblings) and just be sure to put some extra emphasis on the bump. There is something so special about the connection of a mom and dad waiting for a baby to arrive, and Kim and John’s connection really came through in these images. I can just feel the love they have for each other and bond that they share.

Only another month or so until I get to photograph part two of this Belly and Baby Collection. I cannot wait to get some amazing shots of these two holding their baby girl in their arms.

Baby Boy On The Way | Orlando Maternity Photographer

I met this stunning mom several months ago when I was teaching my first run of Click and Capture. She was expecting her first child, a baby boy, and was eager to learn how to use her fancy DSLR camera to document his upbringing. Even though the class was over, we kept in touch.

A few weeks ago, mom approached me about professional newborn photography. She said she loved the photojournalistic approach to my images, and wanted me to capture her son’s first images – starting with when he was still in her belly!

For now, I’ll share some of my favorites from her perfect in-home natural maternity session. We kicked off the session jamming out to some of their favorite tunes. I took some beautiful portraits of the most photogenic mom-to-be and her adorable and perfect baby bump.  They sang, they danced, they cried (happy tears), they did yoga, they played. And, most importantly, they loved. It is SO evident how much these two individuals love each other. Photographing them really moved me. They are amazing people, and are going to make the most wonderful parents to their sweet baby boy.

I can't wait to do his lifestyle newborn session this weekend!

How beautiful is this expecting mama and her sweet bump and precious family?

I've known Lauren since high school. While our friendship started in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, it continued when we both traveled north to Orlando for college at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). We both became pregnant in 2014, and welcomed our first children, hers a baby boy, within a few months of each other. We had many of your typical first-time-mom conversations from the basics of breastfeeding to what to do with that first terrifying middle of the night fever. Thankfully, Lauren works in the medical field and she was always able to ease my paranoid mind. 

I remember sitting at a little sushi restaurant in Oviedo after a play date with the big kids when she shared her exciting news with me! Hunter was going to be a big brother! Of course, I was thrilled with the news, and just as excited when she asked me to take her maternity photos when I was visiting Oviedo. 

When I pulled into this little field in Central Florida, I was all smiles because the evening was SO perfect. We had SO much fun during this Family Play session, with a maternity focus. I was so bummed when the sun finally set, because it meant I had to stop taking pictures. 

While we of course got that traditional family portrait, my favorite images from this session are from all the crazy play that took place. We ran around in circles, made silly faces, and the topic of poop came up more than once. I love these fun, easy-going family sessions. Everyone has fun, and I capture some timeless images that are full of true joy. 

I can not wait to hear if Hunter is going to have a little brother or sister! And, I hope to make it in time for some incredible birth photography!
